Designed ca. 1965, Old Hamcherry Bold is the second typeface by Iowan designer Max Dingksbuhms. After the iconic Jamon Book it is his alternative take on the super ellipse theme, taking it to a whole new level in display type.
It adds distinction to your design — be it logotypes, letterheads, book jackets, posters or other kind of jobbing type — without too much eccentricity, and offers a superb sensitivity and letterfit, all while scaling to nearly any width. This clearly demonstrates Dingksbuhms’ concern that an alphabet must work not just as a collection of single letters, but also have a sense of unity in itself.
