CastleType was commissioned in 1991 by San Francisco Focus magazine to digitize three members of the Standard family [see Akzidenz-Grotesk]. Released in or before 2003. Expanded in 2008 to a family of three widths with four weights each. “The three lighter weights of the Extended subfamily were designed from scratch based on the new Standard CT Regular and Standard CT Extended Extra Bold.” Further expanded with four more light weights for each of the widths.
