Trade Gothic Extended

The wide styles of Trade Gothic, announced in regular and bold weights early in 1959 [McGrew 1993]. Both weights are shown with either a single-story [JBJ] or a double-story form for ‘g’ [McGrew 1993]. Virtually identical to News Gothic Extended (Intertype, 1961), apart from a few differences. The ‘Q’ tail crosses the circle. In the Bold, ‘J’ ends flat and terminals in ‘ace’ and the numerals are horizontal, not angled.

Included in Linotype’s digitization of Trade Gothic (with double-story ‘g’), but not in their Trade Gothic Next.
