Designed by Walter Tiemann and released by Klingspor in 1928. In 1935, an italic companion with optional swash caps was added. Initially named Euphorion, it was later sold as Orpheus-Kursiv, Orpheus italic abroad. A bold followed in 1937.
OPTI Orphan Slim (Castcraft, 1990–1991) is a digital interpretation based on the bold, but with narrower proportions. Orpheus Pro is a digital revival and expansion by Patrick Griffin and Kevin Allan King (Canada Type, 2011), spanning three weights in two widths, plus one italic cut, with many swash forms and extras.
