Inspired by Antiqua (see Zarathustra), a typeface designed by Belgian neo-impressionist painter Georges Lemmen in the early 20th century. It was brought to GUNMAD’s attention by Jean-Marc Klinkert, who came across the typeface in the letterpress workshop at La Cambre in Brussels. Working from a specimen printed from the original 10 and 12 pt lead type, Or Lemmen is an interpretation loosely based on the smaller size. During the process, a thin and light cut was also imagined and developed alongside their italics.

Extended in Nov. 2022 to three subfamilies, Or Lemmen, Or Lemmen Condensed, and Or Lemmen Mono, each with five weights in roman and italic styles.
