Initiated during the CAS Type Design course at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Alena was first shown in 2011 in two weights plus italics on abc litera. Released with Lazydogs in July 2017 as LD Alena, now expanded to eight weights plus italics. A remastered version with extended character set was released with Nouvelle Noire in July 2019 as NN Alena.
