RAI din IAD (literal translation: HEAVEN from HELL, official translation: HELL’S HEAVEN) is one of three exhibitions organized for the official opening of the first private museum in Romania in 80 years — the Muzeul de Artă Recentă, or Museum of Recent Art (MARe). I had the pleasure of working on its visual identity, comprising a key visual, a catalogue, as well as graphics for the website, for which I chose to do animation accompanied by a textured sound.

The exhibition tackles religion and unique points of view in recent art here in Romania. My approach was expressing heaven and Hell (Rai and Iad) as the two poles around which artists had gravitated, most of the times finding blends, or gray areas between the two. My perspective was inevitably drawn to the duality of these two opposite poles, the subjectivity of each seen from different points of view, and how in the end they are one entity with two sides, creating and encircling a world.
