Prestige Elite

Designed at IBM and later used for their Selectric typewriters. Although it preceded Courier and was frequently installed on early laser printers, it later fell out of favor because Courier was bundled for free with operating systems and other software. The design is variously credited to Howard Kettler and Clayton Smith.

Prestige 12 Pitch is Bitstream’s interpretation with a soft contour replicating the type’s impression on the page.
