Initially beginning as a branding project, Wade and Leta designed and built the physical lockup for Taubmans’ 2021 campaign, Chromatic Joy. From their case study:

Our multi-layered logo and its system of glyphs existed as physical wall reliefs that, when assembled, would create a giant composition that we photographed for the header of the website. Each of these letters and glyphs were hand painted to showcase the vibrancy and tactility of Taubman’s colors for 2021. We had a lot of fun determining this modular typographic approach as it gave us infinite opportunities to showcase Taubman’s color pairing possibilities with our material approach.

Additionally, we designed our own ideal buildings to supplement the site by pulling inspiration from architects like Kunihiko Hayakawa and Kazuo Shinohara. Everything was nicely linked together with the eclectic palette derived from Taubman’s colors of the year in order to exist on Taubman’s digital annual report website (designed by Sons & Co.) featuring loads of chromatic inspiration and insightful interviews with other colorful creatives such as Yinka Ilori, Camille Walala, and Adam Nathaniel Furman. We’re in there too ;)

Geometer is used alongside what looks like Gordita as well as an unidentified sans similar to LL Circular.

HigherDose is a brand of at-home wellness tools using nature-inspired technologies. The products range from serums and sprays to infrared sauna blankets and red light face masks.

For the branding, they used sans-serif Gordita (by Type Atelier) alongside the serif typeface Romie (by Margot Lévêque). Romie is used generally in all caps including its large ligatures set.

In Figure Drawing we wanted a distinctive display typeface that felt figurative, fleshy and expressive; one that would also pair well with body copy fonts. Used for chapter openers and headers, Roslindale sets the tone perfectly for this guide to drawing the human body.

Cover design and variable logo using Feeeeels–Fuzzy for Michael Penn II’s new podcast “Good Convo” by Vinyl Me, Please. The sans serif is their brand typeface Gordita.

Planned Living Architects is located on Australia’s Mornington Peninsula and has an architectural portfolio that shows a sensitivity and responsiveness to the uniqueness of each site, is environmentally-conscientious, materially mindful, beautiful and functional. The studio is well-regarded, has decades of experience and expertise working within coastal and rural areas, is known for its pared-back style, and has a philosophy that is rooted in the fluid connection between the built and natural environment. These principles, considerations, style and expertise are expressed by their new brand identity, created by Melbourne-based design studio A Friend Of Mine, in the font choice and typesetting of logotype, the spacing of an abbreviation, the design and finish of illustration, and the photography of Sean Fennessy and Derek Swalwell.

The new identity for Queensland Theatre strives to connect with new and old audiences through simplicity, brand recognition and the use of relevant facts, opinions and the translation of theatre speak to something more accessible.

A new wordmark / display typeface was made — the letterforms drawing inspiration from surrounding historical signage, the brightness and contrast of the Queensland Sun, and the long angular shadows that it creates. This results in letterforms with a dimensional physicality.

Used in a compositional structure of masthead and base block, powerful imagery, playful typographic expressions and provocative/engaging language live in-between. Theatre is communication. Ideas presented and considered and dissected. It’s an open conversation. With a new found dialogue that pervades every interaction and experience with the theatre, Queensland aims to bring that back.
