A sans with horizontal contrast, designed by Aldo Novarese in 1974 [Zetafonts] and released by Italian manufacturer Reber in their R41 line of dry transfer lettering faces as Stadio. The same design was released in 1978 by VGC for phototypesetting under the name Global. [Reichardt/Hoefer] [VGC (Devroye)]
Digital revivals include Global (Image Club, before 1989) Glockenspiel (FontBank, 1990–1993, used for sample) and Cuckoo (anon., 1992). Blue Global (T-26, 2001) is a loose interpretation. Stadio Now (Zetafonts, 2020–2021) is a revival and extension made on the occasion of Novarese’s 100th birthday. See also Goofy (Tüpokompanii, 2020).
