Designed by Frederic W. Goudy and cut by Robert Wiebking for Lanston Monotype and issued as Hadriano 309 in 1918. Later (1930?) extended with lowercase letters from Kennerley Bold. In 1932, Sol Hess added the open Hadriano 409 Stone Cut. [Reichardt]
There are two digitizations. The version by Image Club Graphics spans 3 weights plus an Extrabold Condensed and is now sold by Adobe and Monotype. LTC Hadriano by Gerald Giampa for Lanston Type Company has the original solid and Stone Cut styles, both with small caps. The latter was made in 1991.
