“MN Latin” (not an official name) is a humanist sans serif with
stroke contrast that vaguely resembles a serifless version of
Times New
Roman.
Muthu Nedumaran at Murasu Systems developed several Indic fonts
which are bundled with some versions of Apple’s macOS. This Latin
design is used for the following families: Bangla MN,
Gurmukhi MN, Kannada MN, Khmer MN, Lao MN, Malayalam
MN, Myanmar MN, Oriya MN, Sinhala MN, Tamil MN, Telugu
MN.
In all fonts with the exception of Khmer MN,
the lowercase was revised sometime before 2017, replacing the
ball terminals in ‘acfry’ and introducing a blunt top in ‘t’, as
well as looser spacing and perfectly round dots on ‘i/j’.
