One day, walking together around Tbilisi, collector Giorgi Japaridze and gallery owner Tamuna Gvaberidze bought a loaf of shotis puri, a type of traditional Georgian bread that is baked on almost every street corner. While enjoying their crusty snack, they decided to photograph all the bakers of Georgia. The two teamed up with photographer Alexander Zachs and travelled to the Samegrelo region. Having talked to a number of local bakers, Giorgi and Tamuna realised that their quest should result in a bilingual book rather than just a photo series and asked author Maria Korolkova to join the project.

The book was designed by Daria Yarzhambek and Yury Ostromentsky. They picked Loos by CSTM Fonts (co-designed by Daria and Yury with Ilya Ruderman) for Georgian text and opted for Parmigiano by Typotheque to set English.

In June 2022, Ad Marginem publishers releases a book by German philosopher Theodor Adorno. In this collection of text fragments written by Adorno in exile in the 1940s, he suggests that our society should give up the capitalist race and leave the possibilities untapped. Hence the white sheet of paper on the book’s cover and a terse typographic solution. The book uses only two styles of Parmigiano Piccolo: Regular for the cover, body text, and footnotes; Medium for the book’s spine and contents.

MúzeumCafé is a 288-pages, bi-monthly magazine published by the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, covering domestic and international art events, workshops and developments. For the recent redesign, Péter Salát Zalán from the creative team Lead 82 chose the Parmigiano type system. MúzeumCafé uses various optical sizes of Parmigiano: Headline for the large titles, Caption for the main body text, and Parmigiano Sans as the complementary typeface style. This artwork was born as a cover for the Kerning conference notebook, in 2013. Text was originally set in Bodoni. I wanted to create some t-shirts based on type, so I decided to start with this quote by Galileo Galilei, giving it a more modern twist. But I’m always — and I’ll be forever — Bodoni addicted, so I've set the quote in Parmigiano, a typeface that is a tribute to Bodoni. Galileo Galilei is set in Dic Sans.

Caratteruzzi means “small characters”, and the quote is about their power. English translation:

But surpassing all stupendous inventions, what sublimity of mind was his who dreamed of finding means to communicate his deepest thoughts to any other person, though distant by mighty intervals of place and time! Of talking with those who are in India; of speaking to those who are not yet born and will not he born for a thousand or ten thousand years; and with what facility, by the different arrangements of twenty characters upon a page!

YODO (#YouOnlyDesignOnce) is a column devoted to graphic design, published every month in IL magazine. IL is designed and art directed by Francesco Franchi. The headline is set in a different typeface each time the column appears. Frauen Script, designed by Lucas Sharp for Incubator, was used in issue no.75 of IL magazine, November 2015.

The text combines several styles of Euclid Flex (Swiss Typefaces) and Tiempos, with Founders Grotesk Text (both by Klim) used for captions.
