Originally named Palatino Light [Linotype], Aldus or Aldus-Buchschrift is a lighter and narrower companion to Palatino, made especially for books. The even narrower Enge Aldus-Buchschrift was added in 1959–60 [Zapf].

Reworked in 2005 as Aldus nova.
