Overmoon is a vacation rentals startup, offering a growing collection of family-oriented rentals, owned and run by them. Each Overmoon getaway has all the comforts of home with the joy (and reliability) of your favorite hotel.

Understanding the pain points of family vacations with kids, and anyone you could call family, Mucho created the name, messaging and visual identity for Overmoon, based around the joy of a vacation made easy. The name Overmoon, created with A Hundred Monkeys, is inspired by the informal British phrase ‘over the moon’.

The symbol is a bold, simple crescent moon flipped over to become a smile, hinting at the joys of a stay with Overmoon. The supporting wordmark uses Boing by A2 Type, a sans serif face with subtle rounded corners, mirroring the roundedness of the symbol and giving the brand a soft, friendly feel.

Rounded characteristics were carried through other elements of the brand such as the website and icon design to create a cohesive visual experience. The visual language also uses a color palette inspired by the night sky.

Founded in 2016, Paystack helps businesses in Africa get paid online. Paystack Commerce is the company's latest announcement, a toolkit of features, integrations and guides for creators to sell more online.

The Commerce website was built by the Paystack design team and set in our brand typefaces: A2 Boing Semibold and Graphik. Inspired by sites like Readymag and Framer, we used large fonts and bold colours to appeal to creativity. On mobile, the bigger fonts make the site a delight to browse through quickly.

We used the typefaces in three sizes each. Because Boing is a very important brand device, we use it for titles (32/40px) and the main headline (60px). The rest of the copy is set in Graphik (16px for buttons, 21px for copy and 26px for titles).

Programme leaflets for the 2020 tour of M+ Rover to local primary schools in Hong Kong. The participating artist is Wong Tin Yan. M+ Rover is “a traveling creative studio that serves as a space for exhibitions and can travel around to different parts of Hong Kong”. It’s organized by M+, Hong Kong’s new museum of visual culture.

The visual identity of these leaflets represents Wong’s concept of “cut and paste” and bricolage (a DIY-style work made by putting together various on-hand materials). Wong will create an educational bricolage by inviting different collaborators – from musicians to chefs to architects – to join him in the M+ Rover tours. The graphic design also foregrounds the question “Yes But Why?”, the title of the artist’s work. This is the question we want to have in mind when entering the primary school campuses, as it encourages the artist, students, teachers, and M+ team to challenge and explore the world around them.

The primary typeface for English text is A2 Boing. It’s paired with Noto Sans CJK (i.e. Source Han Sans) for Chinese. Small English text is set in Nitti Grotesk.

As part of Woolworths’ own brand renovation, commencing late 2015, and with the objective of improving quality and value, we recommended that Woolworths add a heap of personality to their Essentials range. Serious savings don’t have to look serious, and by adding personality and charm to raise perceptions and make shoppers feel good about their purchase, sales took off.

The Essentials design solution focuses on expressing Woolworths practicality for products through vibrant, genuine and charming illustrations which add a human touch while bright, bold colours are approachable and friendly. (...) The simple pack iconography makes navigation clear and information easy to find. The red Woolworths logo tab acts as a promise of quality and a commitment to value.

We worked closely with Marque Branding, who adapted and executed the concepts across the full range of products.

Like the dishes themselves, the brand name balances appetite and health, exploration and convenience.
Hungry: craveable, delightful, curious, progressive. This half speaks to the “explorer” persona interested in new experiences and products, escaping boredom through fulfilling journeys.
Root: down-to-earth, honest, nurturing. This half speaks to the “everyman” persona attracted by authenticity, convenience, and functionality.

For a web-based fresh food brand, photography has to get the customer as close to the experience of eating as possible. From close-up bites to empty plates, art direction uses color and attitude to capture adventure in eating, bowl after delicious bowl.

Hungryroot typography is a strong contrast of hearty and light. The two families, Brown and Boing, are each drawn with the curls and curves of the noodle, in a single width—no thicks and thins. The round letters in both fonts–particularly the “o”—connect visually to the brand name.

The simple sleeve acts as a billboard for the six flavor profiles. In addition to creating a preview of what's inside.
