Michel Medium and Bold were designed by Michel Waxmann with art direction from Conway (Conways?) Photosetting before 1970. [Modern Publicity] The (demi) gras (bold) weight is shown in Lettera 4, with a 1969 date, via Hollenstein. [Lettera 4] Shown by Hollenstein in three styles. [Hollenstein 1974] The medium (maigre) style (shown) was adopted by Letraset in the 1970s. Michel simplifié is a simplified two-line style. There’s also a fourth style, Michel éclairé (like simplifié with outlined strokes for a neon-like effect). [Modern Publicity 1976]
