Designed by Gary Gillot for Rapitype/Graphic Systems Ltd, 1972. Comes in two weights: 55 and 85 [Simonson]. There is also a multiline version called Embrionic Triline and an (outlined) Shaded. The bold weight (plus swash caps) was adopted by Zipatone [1974 catalog] and by Berthold Fototypes [Berthold 1974]. Later shown with Ilja Feldstein credited as designer [Berthold 1982]. According to Gillot, that’s a mistake. Also spelled Embryonic [Gillot, MuirMcNeil]. Lettergraphics showed it as Squirrel Swash.
There is no complete revival. YWFT Agostina is very similar and Claude Pelletier released free versions of 55 Swash (used for this sample), 85, and 85 Swash.
