The extended style of DIN 1451. It was needed for short words only and, with its stretched look, was never as widely used as the regular Mittelschrift and the condensed Engschrift. The standard was discontinued in 1980.
A freebie by Peter Wiegel (2009) is the only available faithful digitization of this neglected family member. DINICA (Jack Jennings/Standard Library with Desmond Wong/Authentic, 2017) is a digitization made exclusively for the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), Los Angeles. Dinamit (Revolver Type Foundry, 2017) is a reinterpretation in seven weights plus italics. See also the wide styles of Neue DIN (Fontwerk, 2023).
