The initial caps-only version known as Altschrift was designed by Herbert Post and cut by Paul Koch for Burg Giebichenstein [Reichardt/Hoefer] and cast by Berthold in 1932 as Post-Antiqua. A halbfett followed in 1937 and a mager in 1941. Extended with lowercase letters in 1939 (mager 1940, halbfett 1941) and a Post-Kursiv (1943). [Reichardt 2011] Presented together with Post-Fraktur in a specimen from c. 1937. [Gebrauchsgraphik] After the lowercase was added, Berthold continued to offer the capital version as Post-Versal, which was also available with Greek characters for all 3 weights.
