Ouvrières, or Les Ouvrières, is a variable typeface designed by Laure Azizi at the art school of La Cambre in Brussels in 2023. It “mimics the characteristics and movements of ants in two axes (weight and movements called ‘formations’) with three degrees of variation each.” Predefined styles are named affamées (shown), agricultrices, exploratrices, rassasiées, and soldates.
