    <title>Antique Tuscan Extended in use</title>
    <link>https://www.fontsinuse.com/typefaces/217202/antique-tuscan-extended</link>
    <description>Antique Tuscan Extended in use. This entry is for the extended and expanded variants of Antique Tuscan. While Antique Tuscan Extended “was first shown as wood type by Darius Wells and E.R. Webb in their 1854 Specimens of Wood Type” [RRKWTC], the Expanded “was first shown as wood type by William H. Page in his 1865 specimen book” […] In American Wood Type Kelly mis-labeled Antique Tuscan Extended as Antique Tuscan Expanded.” [RRKWTC]&#13;
&#13;
Foundry versions (of Antique Tuscan in general) typically went under the name Antique Pointed, with the Extended and Expanded styles also named Broadgauge [Shields]. Broadgauge was first cast by MacKellar, Smiths &amp; Jordan in 1869, with Ornate and Shaded styles [Reichardt 2011].&#13;
&#13;
Digital interpretations include Mexia NF (Nick’s Fonts, 2004, no lowercase), Wood Tuscan JNL (Jeff Levine, 2014, “re-drawn from vintage wood type examples”, no lowercase), and P22 Tuscan Expanded (IHOF, 2006, digitized from Antique Tuscan Expanded by Wells &amp;amp; Webb, 1854, with lowercase, used for sample).</description>
