The free tabloid insert was launched in 2008 by The Nation, an English-language daily newspaper published in Bangkok, Thailand. Released in 2007, Antenna is used in several of its widths and weights, and also forms the basis of the logo.

Revista São Paulo is the new graphic project by Fernando Sciarra and Thea Severino from the design team of Folha de São Paulo. It was launched in June 2016 and uses Silva Display and Antenna Condensed for the titles, as well as FF Meta Serif for text. The logotype is a custom version of Silva Display.

During a nine-month program The Work Lab invests in individuals, non-profit, and for-profit ideas to empower low-wage workers and strengthen the middle class economy in the US.

Contrast Web is an agency that specializes on web design and development and welcomes their clients with a playful and brightly colored website. Antenna is used in many different styles complementing the numerous illustrations.

MakerBot's online platform Thingiverse is the largest 3D printing community where designs and templates for 3D printing models are presented, exchanged and edited. Created in-house at MakerBot, the website contains a combination of Antenna for headlines and section headings with Helvetica for continuous text.

The use of Antenna Medium as the only typeface on this single page web presentation of Tibersoft iQ, an operating platform for the foodservice industry, matches the clear statements and striking information graphics perfectly.

Custora is a web analytics company specialized in e-commerce marketing and customer relation building. They are using Antenna bold and regular for navigation, text and branding, as well as Verdana for small body copy.

Munchery is a dinner delivery service operating out of San Francisco. Prepared by professional chefs daily, they feature a constantly changing menu that is bolstered by the use of Antenna for headlines.

You’ve surely heard by now: Batkid saved the day (and took over the internet). On Friday, November 15, five-year-old Miles Scott had his wish granted after a long battle with leukemia. The Make-A-Wish foundation and thousands of volunteers in San Francisco gathered to watch Miles save the city from Penguin and the Riddler.

To honor the event, the San Francisco Chronicle published a special front page. This was a clever and generous act — it added to the day’s authenticity as it was handed out to the crowd by a newspaper employee. Due to high demand, the page was reprinted for the Saturday edition.

As far as the typography, this design deviates from the paper’s usual look in a notable way. The Chronicle doesn’t rely on its bold sans-serif, Antenna, to deliver major headlines. Rather it’s fairly restrained, using Farnham for all of the headlines and light treatments of Archer for slugs and bylines (shown below and in this Fonts in Use entry). Major news is still delivered boldly, tucked under the nameplate, but it’s the serif’s duty.

Otherwise, the Gotham City Chronicle looks a lot like a regular edition. The overall structure and edtiorial contributions makes this much more than a bonus page. What could have been a poster — one big color image with a headline — is in effect fairly nuanced and it feels like serious piece of print.

Unfortunately, some evil still lurks in the Gotham. Jim Parkinson, a superhero among lettering artists, designed the San Francisco Chronicle nameplate. But the Gotham City nameplate appears to have been chopped up on the fly. Says Parkinson:

No, I didn’t modify it. Although it would have been the kind of thing I do for free.

I think they tried to use a lowercase ‘h’ to make a bizarre ‘G’ and stole the tail from the cap ‘F’ to add to a ‘y’, that was probably once an ‘h’.

Alas. Young heros save cities — thanks, Miles! — but the fight against improper lettering is far from over.

The New Republic magazine did a special piece about the future of US President Barack Obama. For the printed magazine and the iPad app they selected Trim as a guest typeface. See also this post about the magazine’s main typefaces.

As a strategy and marketing firm for independent cinema, Bond uses Antenna for its body copy.

Gravitate is a digital marketing and design agency that employs Antenna Cond for its website copy.

Founded in 1914, The New Republic magazine was purchased about a year ago by Chris Hughes, the 29-year-old co-founder of Facebook. According to adweek.com,

the revamped New Republic brand includes a website, tablet app, audio versions of its articles and a live event platform.

The new publisher’s rebranding also involved “hiring the magazine’s first in-house art department.” Dirk Barnett is Creative Director and Erick A. Fletes the Associate AD, with Ben Avny and Cameron L. Searcy listed as designers.
