A typeface that emulates the ribbon effect of actual typewriting for letterpress printing. Originated by the Boston-based Typewriter-Type Company. [May 1900 ad] ATF purchased the patent rights from Waldo D. Hallett [1908 mention] and started selling the typeface by 1903.
Digitizations include Harting (David Rakowski, 1992, used for sample), Love LetterTW (Dixie's Delights Fonts, 1996), and WF Nuisance (Walden Font Company, 2013).
