Specler is an independent Estonian eyewear brand, based in Tallinn. The company designs glasses and sunglasses in-house and sells them direct-to-consumer, with prescription lenses fitted at their own workshop.

Arizona Flare was chosen for its dual personality – the roman cuts feel composed and editorial, while the italics turn expressive and almost handwritten, which gave us a single family capable of carrying both the considered and the playful sides of the brand. Arizona Flare’s expressive italics are used deliberately in headings to emphasize the key word in each statement – the one carrying the attitude. “See bold. Spend less.” / “We’re here to fix eyewear.”

ABC Rom was selected as the counterpoint: a neutral, well-proportioned grotesque that holds up at small sizes for product specs, navigation, and lens-guide copy, and recedes enough to let Arizona Flaire do the talking where it matters. ABC Rom handles product information, navigation, UI labels, and long-form content, keeping the interface calm and legible.

The project covered brand identity, logo, and the complete e-commerce design.

Signor Oil is a German brand with Italian roots, dedicated to high quality Apulian organic extra virgin olive oil. Founded by Denis Okore, Robert Michelone and Giuseppe Sacco, Signor Oil is based on tradition combined with passion and determination. Although the headquarters are in Berlin, their hearts remains closely linked to Puglia – the home of authentic organic olive oil.

The branding and packaging design was created by Ya Ting Yang and is using Grand Slang (Nikolas Type) for the logotype, combined with a yet unidentified sans [see comments].

Nestled beneath the San Jacinto mountains, the Yara Hotel is a 10-room boutique desert oasis in the heart of Palm Springs. Inspired by the natural beauty of the desert, the hotel blends Balinese and Mediterranean influences, with artisanal motifs and light, airy interiors. The identity conveys a sense of tranquility through its warm palette, simplistic typography, and sense of balance.

With an emphasis on providing peaceful retreats to escape the fast-paced world, a series of original illustrations was crafted to bring a sense of serenity to the brand while complementing the organic materials of the property. The design system includes everything from wayfinding and mural work, to menus and merchandise, enhancing the allure of a relaxing desert sanctuary.

In developing Yara Hotel’s visual identity, the goal was to evoke an artisanal texture that bridges hand-drawn illustration with the hotel’s natural materials. To complement the custom logo lettering, ABC Arizona Flare introduces a modern yet classical tone, with wedge-like details and a flexible, organic character. Metallophile Sp8 enhances the hand-drawn quality of the illustrations, bringing warmth and a distinctly human touch. Tenon grounds the system with clean, open geometry, offering clarity and structure. Together, these typefaces create a balanced dialogue between the natural and the refined.

Founded by Benjamin Eymere and Victoire de Pourtales, 91530 Le Marais is a multidisciplinary space combining hemp production and artist residency. Here, art and rurality come together in harmony. For the opening, 91530 Le Marais presented Phytocène. The hemp field interacts with the music and sound composed by Agoria and Nicolas Ion Becker.

The event visuals are set in Kalice Regular for the 91.530 logo (designed by Margot Lévêque) alongside Arizona Flare for "Le Marais" (designed by Elias Hanzer) and the sans serif Neue Haas Unica (designed by Toshi Omagari).

Located in the heart of Warsaw's Wolf building, Ravens is a unique café focused on cocoa and superfood blends in drinks and baked goods. We wanted its identity to be elegantly modern, with an almost apothecary-like recipe heritage feel with a little energetic accent in the colour palette. Come and see it for yourselves—this autumn will be all about a great cup of cocoa with a slice of delicious tart.

Ellul & Cruz is the result of a merger between two prominent Gibraltarian law firms, Ellul & Co and Cruzlaw LLP.

‍Kenshō Agency’s identity for Ellul & Cruz utilises ABC Arizona Flare (Dinamo) across the suite of logos, alongside Hedvig Letters Serif (Kanon Foundry) for display type and Wix Madefor for body copy (Dalton Maag).

What happens when two writers take turns crafting chapters of the same story, as “equals in imagination”, and with their identities kept secret from one another until the story ends?

Switch-Lit is an online platform and imaginative space for collaborative fiction created by Studio Esmé.

The animated T is actually based on ABC Arizona (Flare)! Additional animations show the colored circles (user avatars) in connection with the “light traps” of ABC Camera.

We used the light traps of ABC Camera as negative spaces for colored circles that represent our user base of individual writers around the world.

We chose to use all cuts of ABC Arizona to express the possibility for different voices within a larger family (or story).

Overall, the Switch-Lit identity and platform build upon your team’s original design intentions behind these typefaces, so we feel proud about that.

The building is a contemporary reinterpretation of flatiron architectural design and its location at the intersection of Yorkville and Rosedale achieves a harmonious balance between city and park living.

Vanderbrand developed an immersive experience punctuated by a refined brand narrative. The cross-platform campaign highlights Park Road as a residence of distinction with timeless architecture and forward-thinking design, while emphasizing the premium amenities within the sought-after location of Yorkville. Every touchpoint is carefully curated to reflect the inherent quality of the residence, seamlessly incorporating both classic and contemporary brand applications.

The logo is set in ABC Arizona Flare, while supporting typography is set in ABC Social.

Black artists and entrepreneurs have been instrumental to moviemaking from the start, helping to shape this most modern and popular of art forms while facing racism and prejudices that limited opportunities. Presented by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898–1971 explores the rich history of Black participation in American cinema from its beginnings to just beyond the civil rights movement. Pentagram partner Eddie Opara and team [Jack Collins, Brankica Harvey, Dana Reginiano, Jun Jung] have designed a companion book for the exhibition that aims to be an essential resource on this heritage.

Co-curated by Doris Berger and Rhea L. Combs, Regeneration seeks to revive lost or forgotten films, filmmakers and performers for a contemporary audience, focusing on the foundational period that led to the explosion of mainstream and independent Black cinema that followed. (The exhibition takes its name from an independent all-Black-cast movie from 1923.) It is only the second exhibition presented by the Academy Museum since it opened its doors in September 2021 and coincides with the arrival of its newly appointed Director and President Jacqueline Stewart, a leading scholar on Black cinema and film preservation.

The book design employs an eclectic approach to typography inspired by the eye-catching posters and their dramatic display type that drew audiences to the films. The designers selected an ensemble of typefaces that hint at the period as well as the posters’ expressive lettering, most of which was originally hand-drawn. The lead role in the book is given to Sharp Grotesk, chosen for its sheer versatility and a range of widths that allows it to be everything from powerful to whimsical. The elegant geometric Parafina is a supporting player, and other fonts include Domaine Display, Surt and Arizona Flare.

The cover repeats the title in strong upper-case type (set in Sharp Grotesk Black), projecting out of the dark like a film in the theater and suggesting an evolution into a bright future. (“The title Regeneration is not just from a race movie, but it’s about the successive waves of Black filmmakers,” Stewart says.) The contrast gives the cover a sense of dimension, heightened by a foil varnish.

The designers developed a bright, modern color palette that draws from the posters. The vibrant color is used to offset the sepia tone of the historical materials, and visually echoes the title of the curators’ introductory essay, “A Spectrum of Black Cinema.”

Regeneration is helping to write history, the book is intended to serve as a valuable reference beyond the exhibition. The design encourages readers to flip around the pages and to follow various narratives. A system running along at the fore edge serves as a guide, indexing the essays, case studies, filmographies and interviews into separate sections.

The book is published by DelMonico Books in collaboration with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Visual identity for Patchwork Capital, a new investment firm enabling social entrepreneurs to solve the biggest problems of our time.

Patchwork Capital is a holding company with the mission to enable innovative companies with their experience, passion and capital to solve the biggest problems of our times. The company is a variety of startups and more established companies, but mainly focuses on companies in the fields of social entrepreneurship. They approached us because they recently found the company as the holding for all their businesses and needed a visual identity to represent it.

After our initial brand strategy and concept phase it was pretty clear that the goal of the new visual identity had to reflect their aspiration to create a brighter future for our planet and combine it with their innovative vision and the seriousness of an investment company. We also wanted to add a touch of “coolness” that reflects the people involved in the company and its holdings.

Furthermore we wanted the identity to be calm and reduced to bring all the attention to their holdings. Patchwork Capital should be perceived as the enabler for their startups.
