Engravers Roman

“Engravers Roman was designed by Robert Wiebking and advertised by BB&S in 1899 as the ‘latest design’. Other founders had introduced similar faces a short time before [Jaspert mentions Bauer’s Noblesse of 1870], all imitating favorite designs of copperplate and steelplate engravers for fine stationery and announcements.” [McGrew 1993]

Monotype’s Engravers differs from other digital versions. Its Regular weight is more related in proportion to the Bold.

Bitstream’s Engravers Roman BT combines the Bold with a lighter weight of different origin.
