Nikkei Maru is “a tribute to Japanese immigration done typographically.” Originally designed by Caio Kondo with Lais Ikoma and Satsuki Arakaki and released by Inari Type in 2020 in a single Bold weight, with dingbats and ornaments intended for building patterns, as well as some alternates. Language support for Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

A revised version (used for sample) made by Kondo together with Francesca Bolognini and Mat Desjardins was released with Pangram Pangram in March 2024, now in nine weights plus italics as well as in variable font format.
