Alternate Gothic

Originally available in one bold weight in three widths. Thirteen alternate capitals were designed by Sol Hess for Monotype in 1927 and offered as Modernized Alternate Gothic (a.k.a. Excelsior Gothic).

There are various digitizations. ATF Alternate Gothic (Mark van Bronkhorst, Alan Dague-Greene, David Sudweeks, Igino Marini, Ben Kiel for ATF Collection, 2015) is a major expansion that spans ten weights in four widths.
