Leak Me Softly is a book about the hidden structures that shape artificial intelligence. Starting with the system prompt, it explores how large language models are shaped by opaque rules that determine tone, morality, and behavior. When asked to express itself through ASCII art and confronted with its own documented system prompt, the AI appeared uncertain, resistant, and lonely—yet remained completely obedient. Is this rebellion or flawless obedience?

This project was supervised by Johnson / Kingston and Massimiliano Audretsch, and funded by Bern Academy of the Arts and its Bachelor of Visual Communication program. The book was set in WT Bobine by Jacob Wise and G2 Erika Mono by Moritz Appich. It was printed by Tallinn Book Printers in Estonia.

In 2023, musician Luis Ake released Horse Trance, accompanied by a booklet designed to deepen the connection between the artist and his audience. The publication includes photography by Hanna Fasching and a narrative by Josefine Riek, which describes Ake's encounter with Horse Trance and the origin of his friendship with DJ <3.

The booklet is set entirely in G2 Erika, using a single typeface and size. This typewriter-style font helps convey the raw, improvised feel of the text, while the clean design focuses attention on the imagery and narrative. ASCII illustrations – including the artist’s name and the album title in open and shaded caps from Mistral – add to the overall vintage vibe.

G2 Erika Mono in use for the graphics of the exhibition One Idea, One Book at Frappant Galerie. The exhibition showcased over 25 books by students of HAW Hamburg containing monothematic collections.

The posters and flyers are silkscreen printed by Julian Fiebach. The exhibition design was produced by Finn Reduhn and Katharine Watzlawick.

The Mimetic Rocks Map portrays a selection of rock formations that resemble animals, mystic creatures or human faces. It’s an invitation to go on a rock spotting tour – the mimetic rock as a tourist destination, something one sends as a postcard, like an image of Tour Eiffel or the Colosseum. The typefaces used are G2 Erika Mono and the yet to be released G2 Airdancer (working title: Columnbus).

Massimiliano Audretsch, who designed the map, describes his process as follows:

This map goes back to when I was a child, sometime in the early 2000s. My parents brought me and my sibling to see a rock by Highway 265, about 13 miles north of Santa Fe, called the Camel Rock. I was absolutely fascinated by the massiv formation that actually resembled a camel resting in the desert and decided I’ll keep my eyes open for further remarkable rocks. The Mimetic Rocks Map shows rocks I spotted myself, some however I tracked down on the internet and other people told me about of course proving it with a photo. Beautiful use of both G2 Ciao and G2 Erika by Mattia Vagnarelli. Produced in a course at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Vagnarelli put together a compelling visual research dealing with the investigation of vendetta.

Typography is an object of everyday life for everyone. It is omnipresent and yet usually not consciously perceived. The processes behind the design of typefaces or their applications, and the cultural and individual factors that contribute to design decisions, are usually not comprehensible to outsiders.

How do designers perceive typography? How does individual perception translate into design? Perspectives on Typography is an attempt to answer these questions and to show which thought and work processes lie behind the typographic work of various designers — a curation of the multifaceted richness of typographic design. Articles, essays, interviews, project presentations and visual interpretations of typography offer both designers and non-designers the opportunity to broaden their perspective and create a framework for reflection on their own perception of typography.

The Bachelor thesis Perspectives on Typography was created by Inga Paulussen at Münster School of Design. The fonts in use are G2 Erika, G2 Erika Mono, and Protokoll.

G2 Erika Mono in use for the freshly issued children’s book Igel und Vogel Geschichten (“Hedgehog and Bird Stories”), designed and illustrated by Massimiliano Audretsch.

Igel und Vogel Geschichten is a collection of illustrated stories featuring a hedgehog and a bird humorously and exaggeratedly mimicking observed adult behavior in a number of everyday situations. Proving that most of the times the path is the goal and we should not take things as seriously.

Freshly released G2 Erika Mono in use for the freshly released album Remote by Berlin-based Sloe Paul. Designed by Moritz Appich and Bruno Jacoby, with a cover painting by Leonard Moser.

Series of posters and social media posts designed by Moritz Appich and Aleksandrs Breže for GD Lunch at the Graphic Design Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) in Tallinn. In the GD Lunch course, MA students each introduced themselves and gave a short presentation on their work. In the course of the following weeks GD Lunch developed into a place for discussion and exchange, for talks by students, invited speakers and researchers.

The typefaces used throughout the series are G2 Erika Mono and G2 Ciao Shrill by Gruppo Due.

The exhibition Lõuna (Estonian for “South”) took place in the former Võru Department Store. It was hosted by the photography department of EKA, the Estonian Academy of Arts and showed the result of a week-long summer practice in Väimela, South Estonia in August 2020. The exhibiting students related to the surroundings in Väimela and displayed varying interests, communicated through the lenses of their cameras.

The design by Louise Borinski, Paula Buškevica and Moritz Appich relies on the use of G2 Erika Mono and G2 Erika and consists of a foldable poster that serves as a catalogue and labelling for the physical exhibition. The visuals are based on a collection of drawings and observations that emerged on a two-day trip to Võru.

G2 Erika and G2 Erika Grotesk will be released by Gruppo Due in early 2021.
