An extralight geometric sans from the phototype era. Credited to Vladimir Andrich for Alphatype, 1970 [Offset Lithographic Technology]. Distinguished from Slenderella by some forms derived from Kabel (angled ‘e’ bar, two-storey ‘a’ and ‘g’), capitals of varying widths (narrow ‘ABDEFHKLNVXYZ’), spurless forms for ‘bdmnpq’, a round ‘w’, and non-ligning numerals.
Both styles appear in a c. 1974 Filmomaster specimen as well as in an Alphatype ad from 1985 [U&lc Vol. 12 No. 2]. Slenderella Refined is also listed in the 1976 Lettergraphics catalog and in FotoStar’s Film Font Digest (date unknown). It’s shown by Castcraft under the name Kabel Rounded [Castcraft 1978].
