Designed by Willard T. Sniffin for ATF in 1930 and named after an 18th-century engraver. Morris F. Benton added Italic (1930), Bold Italic (1931), and Bold (1933). The italics offer alternate plain caps. [McGrew 1993]

Intertype had the Italic with the standard cursive capitals under the name Minuet.
