Issued before 1955. [Filmotype price list] The heaviest and widest styles in Filmotype’s series of sans serifs with vertical terminals, see also Filmotype Ford and Filmotype Flyer. The upright is named Flare, the oblique Ebony. Flare was copied by VGC as C-8 and Ebony as D-3. [VGC 1969] Flare is a.k.a. Flyer Extrabold Extended or London Sans Serif.
