Probably inspired by Joe Caroff’s logo for Last Tango in Paris (1972).

As of 2022, Tango is available in digital form from Bitstream, ITC, and Elsner+Flake. URW had a version named Theia (1996, discontinued) that included a second set of unswashed caps.
