Ron Bar Café is a relaxed venue in Prague's Vinohrady district. It is known for its impressive rum selection and rotating beer specials. In addition to occasional exhibitions, lectures and concerts, this unconventional café/bar offers more than 130 rums worldwide. Moreover, you can enjoy delicious hot dogs, cocktails and perfectly conditioned beers in a relaxed atmosphere.

Golden is a talent consultancy for the creative and marketing industries, connecting brilliant people with roles at culture-conscious companies. Founded by Kate, who brings deep industry knowledge and a belief that work should feel better, Golden is on a mission to make working life more meaningful.

OHMY built a brand and website around the idea of making life golden, a visual expression of what it feels like to find the right fit. Illustrated worlds, warm colours, and playful details create a sense of joy and optimism, while the website itself guides people with clarity and care.

Typography plays a big role here. The wordmark uses a customised version of Neurath by René Bieder: beautifully open letterforms, full of character, especially in heavier weights. It feels approachable, the typographic equivalent of a kind face. We extended its use to titles for the same reason. For body copy, we paired Neurath with Faculty Glyphic, designed by Koto and freely available on Google Fonts, which brings just the right amount of character while balancing nicely with Neurath.

The result is a distinct and uplifting identity that reflects Golden’s purpose: helping people thrive by making the world of work feel brighter, fairer, and full of potential.

Hunger, eat this!

yfood’s corporate design has evolved over the past few years. With the internationalisation and growth of yfood, it is time to sharpen the brand elements and develop the branding for all touchpoints.

To further sharpen the yfood brand, we rely on a simple and concise layout system with a focus on independent brand typography, as well as a new brand colour code that harmonises seamlessly with the complex flavour colour system.

Mutabor in collaboration with the type designer René Bieder introduce a new headline typeface, derived from our iconic logo. Edge Bold combines the boldness of our ever-present line “THIS IS FOOD”, known from every pack – and the unique style of edges and curves from within our logomark.

The new headline typeface is based on Neue Campton Black, which already carried many of the qualities needed: geometric clarity, strong presence, and a friendly tone. It served as the perfect foundation for refining details tailored to yfood’s brand values.

Key design features were drawn from the yfood logo and the “THIS IS FOOD” tagline. Elements like curve dynamics, stroke endings, and proportions and ligatures were adapted and integrated into the typeface to create a strong visual link to the brand’s identity.

The new typeface features a wide set of expressive and functional ligatures. They extend the brand language and even enable different logo versions—directly typed, cleanly composed, and always visually distinctive.

The name of the custom typeface captures both clarity and confidence. With a single, striking weight, it gives the brand’s communication a fresh, authentic, and approachable tone that aligns with its visual and verbal identity.

Pop & Pasta is an inclusive live show on Twitch. studiokwi worked on the project design, corporate identity, and Canva templates.

In the “Twitch-inklusiv” project, a young team of people with disabilities is developing a twelve-part Twitch live programme. The under-30s determine the format, topics and guests of the programme themselves in their regular meetings. The BAG Selbsthilfe team will accompany the process. In a first step, the participants receive an introduction to the portrayal of disability in film and television. They then learn about ways to produce programmes on Twitch themselves. After the media training, the programmes to be broadcast live from a film studio can be designed.

The briefing was characterised by the desire for a design that is reminiscent of the MTV of the 1990s and is 3-dimensional. It needed to be loud and trendy, yet calm and relaxed.

The project included strategy, conception and design of a corporate identity including various logo variants and graphics, a colour system, font selection and a barrier-free usage concept. The project design, including all colours, fonts and shapes, was implemented in Canva. In addition, studiokwi developed Canva templates for various social media channels and print media as well as a timer animation.

Morgenmete is an independent publisher dedicated to exploring the humor and absurdity of life through the lens of breakfast. We believe in print, and in celebrating the best meal of the day, and we love that breakfast is a topic that speaks to both universal experiences and unique traditions in imaginative ways.

Although Morgenmete takes inspiration from iconic food magazines like Lucky Peach and The Gourmand, as well as industry classics like Bon Appétit and Saveur, we aim to publish stories by contributors who don’t come from traditional food-writing backgrounds. Breakfast is the starting point for our editorial, but our diverse cast of writers, illustrators, and photographers interprets that topic in endlessly creative and varied ways.

About the issue:
Morgenmete’s Always Connected Issue believes the breakfast table is the best lens through which to examine our screen-based culture. It’s hard to get away from being extremely online, and breakfast is no exception. We examine what this means for the first meal of the day with deep stories, tantalizing photo essays, delicious dishes, and plenty of hot takes. Come hungry.

Urban Market is the largest sales exhibition of independent fashion, design, and artistic creation, featuring a range of accompanying events. In 2019, the winter Christmas edition of Urban Market took place at the Gamča high school in Bratislava.

The visual identity of the event was based on geometric Christmas elements. The display font used for the event graphics is Misto by Ukrainian designer Kateryna Korolevtseva.

Founded in 2009 in Zurich, zkipster is a globally celebrated digital event platform that caters to an exclusive clientele from fashion to fine art. Recognising the need for evolution, they wanted a digital presence that’s as distinguished as the events they power. The typefaces used in the new brand identity are Quaria Text and Inter. The Z and the sans-serif caps of the wordmark are custom.

LaForce is a company offering “communications strategies for big brands… and for smaller ones with big dreams”. Among the “big clients” are Target, Verve Clicquot, Lexus, Spotify, Hunter, and LinkedIn, to name a few.

F37 Bobby is used as a large display typeface and in headers. It is paired with Galano Grotesque for the body copy.

The Gdynia Literary Prize (Polish: Nagroda Literacka Gdynia, NGL) is a Polish literary prize which is awarded annually to the authors of the best books published in Poland in the previous year. Our studio was asked again to prepare a complete image renewal of the graphic identity for the 2023 edition, including all visual and promotional materials. This year, we decided to focus on the multidimensional nature of literature and use photography to create and document our installation in various spaces in the City of Gdynia.

The concept for the visual identity of this year’s edition was largly based on photography. We created a physical object – a cube made of mirror steel, which reflected the surroundings and created a multi-dimensional illusion of space. Next, we photographed the cube in recognizable, important spots across Gdynia: the city beach, the seaport, the Sea Towers, the Film Centre, the Dar Pomorza ship, the Marina, the Emigration Museum, the Aquarium. We wanted to expand our design with activities happening in the real space, going beyond the sphere of 3D modelling only.

We also created the promotional spot, showing the cube in different city locations.

Streem, previously called Ermewa Group, is one of the leading global players of the freight railcar and tank containers leasing industries. In 2023, the group is taking a strategic shift in its brand: a new name, logo and brand narrative. Streem reflects a global vision to reaffirm our market leadership and put our values at the heart of our discourse. This new name looks towards the future, where innovation rhymes with leadership and reliability with sustainability.

This identity is built around a strong symbol, reminding the rail flows and converging networks. It embodies the group’s expertise, its dynamism and unity around a common vision.

Namaskar Ayurved is a cosmetics brand based in Mumbai, committed to creating products sourced from clean, natural, chemical-free ingredients.

The brand identity was designed by 327 creative studio in Porto, Portugal, who describe the project as follows:

The brand identity […] had as its primary purpose the perfect blend between small elements of Indian roots and a minimal aesthetic, characteristic of international brands, showing a contemporary and modern look and feel. Matured at its core, the typographically driven identity system takes advantage of a powerful combination of typefaces, exploring its visual presentation through the depiction of shapes and text breaks. The colour palette is made of warm hues, reminiscent of Indian spices (Haldi, saffron and red chilli powder) and lilac – a fresh and contemporary tone – creating a perfect balance on the brand identity. Each jar was carefully chosen, with frosted coloured glass with screen print. In order to add a distinct look to the range of products, the black matte squared bottles were custom designed by us, enfolded by a coloured label highlighting the brand colours. As part of a global identity project, we also took on the production, art direction and creative photography of the Namaskar products, where all the scenarios were thought out in detail, according to the brand identity.

Voyage (VJ-Type) is combined with Galano Grotesque (René Bieder) and Basis Grotesque (Colophon).

The website was implemented by Rising Webvibe Solutions in Pune, India.

Derma Totale came to us to help them find their voice in a sea of same-old skincare brands. We worked together to launch Derma Totale and progressed to work on their ongoing marketing, collaborations, and PR.

The visual language was crafted to further extend Derma Totale’s central purpose of bringing a dermatologically tested, safe and advanced skincare brand with breakthrough ingredients.

Derma Totale’s typeface, Galano Grotesque Alt, a crisp and definitive sans serif font that is clean and modern was used. The perfect representation of an advanced and safe skincare brand. On the packaging, Galano Grotesque is supported by Montserrat.

In January 2022, five institutions located in Lille joined forces to create one of the largest European universities: Université de Lille – a university at the heart of global transitions, a major force in higher education. With more than 80,000 students, Université de Lille aims to develop new ways of reinventing progress, creating new training courses and innovating through research, while developing its links with the metropolitan, regional and international ecosystem.

Université de Lille is a new “EPE” (experimental public institution), now including the students of the former Université de Lille, Lille School of Journalism (ESJ Lille), Lille National School of Architecture and Landscape (ENSAPL), National School of Textile Arts and Industries (ENSAIT) and Sciences Po Lille. Université de Lille is the university of social, economic and environmental transition. It’s a project that brings the completeness of French knowledge to the doors of Northern Europe.

Graphéine accompanied Université de Lille in the definition of its visual identity, its brand architecture and its graphic guidelines in a co-construction process. Several workshops were conducted between June and July 2021. These co-creative workshops led the participants to question the values of the project, the symbolic vision of the university and the image of Lille territory.

Three L’s for Lille form the U of University. Their interlocking shape evokes the leaves of an open book, symbolizing the mission of higher education to transmit knowledge. We can also see the furrows of the mining industry, those of agricultural crops and the lines of the looms of Lille's economic past. The curved emblem speaks to us of the warm hospitality of Northern France. Finally, a mark is emerging, one that marks the future and initiates the signature “Let's inspire tomorrow”.

Two typefaces are used within the layout. Rational by René Bieder and Eliza by Camelot Typefaces. Their association transcribes the perfect agreement between French tradition and European modernity. This duo gives relief to the titles and its italic directly echoes the emblem.

This new unifying identity, gives birth to a new version of the University of Lille and translates its openness, interdisciplinarity and excellence. A joyful and flexible identity to which students, staff, researchers and teachers are already united!

Graphic design studio Paprika has designed a new commemorative stamp for Canada Post to mark the 70th anniversary of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Love is used as the main typeface, paired with a yet unidentified typeface [It’s Mirador, see comments].

The monarch is represented under her iconic profile, created by sculptor Arnold Machin and used by the Royal Mail since 1967. The composition is full of elegance. It offers a delicate play of overlapping typography combined with a platinum finish that gives the whole the pomp of a great celebration.

Papier is a British brand that sells notebooks, cards and a lot of different paper goods. Their new identity, designed by Ragged Edge, features illustrations by Chiara Perano, a custom drawn logotype, a mix of Self Modern Regular and Italic for the headings, and Quarion for longer texts.

The Fold is a customer magazine by Papier.

Union Square is the vibrant heart of San Francisco and an international destination where visitors come to enjoy exceptional retail experiences, luxury hotels, world-class cultural institutions, and great public spaces found only in the City by the Bay.

A new brand was designed to match the lively energy of the environment. The unique people, businesses and experiences were the inspiration behind the identity. A vibrant color palette, paired with classic and quirky font families, and graphic elements, set the stage for an adaptive brand that can continue to evolve as the Square emerges into its next chapter.

The logo, meant to represent Union Square being a gathering place for a diverse set of people, pairs together Avenir Next and Magnat Head. To contrast the playfulness of Magnat, Avenir is used for the word UNION. This allows for a more serious, and trusted tone, while the bold, even characteristics of the font allow for the letters to have pops of color without losing legibility.

The main star of the identity is Magnat. The swooping tail of the Q and the funky leg of the R give the logo extra character. With an extensive family – including text, head and poster weights – the typeface can flex from sophisticated to spunky, and has just the right balance of classic and whimsy to represent a unique place such as San Francisco’s Union Square.

Scène de Bayssan is the new cultural hotspot of the Hérault department in southern France. It’s located on a site steeped in history, 70 kilometers away from Montpellier and near the town of Béziers. This event center offers everyone the opportunity to enjoy the cultural and artistic programming on offer, but also the green setting that has been arranged for the sensory pleasure of its visitors. Immersed in nature and in culture, Scène de Bayssan has a concert hall, a theater, a museum, but also a Mediterranean garden and several fitness trails for young and old.

Designed by Studio Asensò, its branding uses the custom-made Baissano typeface, a Mediterranean-inspired typeface that reflects the Scène de Bayssan. This typeface also expresses the nature/culture duality that has profoundly shaped the Mediterranean culture. The Baissano typeface is combined with Faktum, designed by René Bieder, that combines clear geometric shapes with organic curves.

The redesign of the branding for Sunbasket, a home meal kit delivery service, typographically leans heavily on the mid-century aesthetics. It tries to bring it into the 21st century by making it a bit sharper and placing it in a starker black and yellow color palette. The main wordmark is a customized version of Loose Caboose by Nick Curtis (an interpretation of Seymour Chwast’s Chwast Art Tone). The primary typeface in the branding system is Daria Petrova’s Zangezi.

The main adjustment to the base typeface for the wordmark is turning all of the rounder ball-terminals into sharper triangular terminals. This was either inspired by Zangezi, or in-turn led to Zangezi being the main display typeface for the brand. The website uses Milliard by René Bieder for all of the body copy and subheadings.

The brand’s sun icon, which is mainly used on the packing box, looks like a direct nod to the sun motifs used in the iconic mid-century design by Alexander Girard for the La Fonda del Sol restaurant. It’s easy to imagine that the mood board for this project included La Fonda Del Sol and lots of references to 1960s food design, like the Underground Gourmet by Milton Glaser.

Exact design credits are not known, but Partners in Crime agency are listed as having handled the overall repositioning of the brand.
