Friedrich Bauer

German author, teacher, and type designer, 1863–1943. Head of the printing offices at Schelter & Giesecke in Leipzig and at Genzsch & Heyse in Munich and later in Hamburg. Editor of the Graphischer Beobachter. Teacher at the Staatliche Gewerbeschule Hamburg from 1911 to 1924. Author of various books and a chronicle of type founding in German speaking countries (1928).
