Louie Louie is a cannabis infused seltzer by Basin Street Beverages from New Orleans. For the launch of their promotional campaign on Instagram, the brand used Carey Regular, an all-caps typeface designed to honor local sign painter Lester Carey (1953–2017).

The graphic additionally features a number of other letter styles, some of which seem to be lettering, or lettering derived from a typeface. “The Drink You Never Know That You Always Wanted” is HT Trattoria with a custom A, for example. “Available” probably is in BN Hamburg Hand, and the other sans that appears in caps of different widths might have started out as BN Axel Grotesk (Futura Passata is similar, too). “It’s juicy and purple!” is in Hess Gothic Round NF.

Smugglers Society is a CBD social club based in Paris, located on Hauteville street. The brand identity has been designed by Studio Furious, with a comprehensive approach covering art direction, photography, campaign development, store signage, packaging, and merchandising.

Studio Furious developed a distinctive visual language built around the typeface Exposure by 205TF, used in both –60 and +40 variations. Its soft, rounded forms and slightly blurred appearance evoke the diffuse, intangible quality of smoke—subtle, atmospheric, and constantly shifting.

Greenery 420’s design philosophy blends minimalism with vibrant color to make hemp feel more approachable. Each product features bold hues that reflect its aromatic profile, while the labels offer subtle nods to each strain’s name, creating a visual connection without falling into stereotypes.

The brand name takes center stage on the packaging, reinforcing our identity and setting us apart from the competition. In a saturated market, Greenery 420 doesn’t just offer premium quality – it builds trust through thoughtful design.

The visual identity for Verdi, a family-owned legal dispensary in Chelsea, NYC, was inspired by iconic establishments like Katz Deli, Barney Greengrass, Glasers Bake Shop, and Russ and Daughters. Our goal with the identity was to have Verdi embody a sense of belonging and comfort, reminiscent of these beloved institutions.

Verdi is dedicated to providing its local community with friendly service and affordable products. To bring these values to life visually, a custom wordmark logo was created, echoing the feeling of vintage storefronts. The logo features bold, condensed type with a playful twist—the foot of the letter R adds a touch of whimsy, reflecting the unique personality of the dispensary.

The brand colors are inspired by the natural hues of the flower sold at Verdi, complemented by classic black and beige tones. This minimal palette creates a sense of calm and authenticity, inviting customers into a space that feels both modern and timeless. The dark green which is the hero color of the brand, is also reminiscent of the classic green color used all over the NYC subway system, creating another subtle nod to NYC heritage.

To further enhance the brand’s character, Sprig Sans Mono was selected as the primary typeface, predominantly in all caps. This monospaced font adds a playful yet readable texture to communications, embodying the spirit of Verdi—distinctive, approachable, and rooted in tradition.

Joggy formulates a dynamic range of plant-based energetics designed to provide steady energy throughout the day, maintain focus and find center during the stressful moments in between, and bring you a sense of calm right before bed.

The brand was founded by Ty Haney with Tiffany Wilkinson as in-house creative director. The visual identity was designed by Actual Source including letterings by Nejc Prah and type from Dinamo: Synt and Diatype Mono – plus a few snippets of Diatype. The wordmark was designed by Nolan Paparelli based on an early version of his typeface TWK Burns. All packaging sourcing and testing by the Joggy team.

Studio Size designed a visual identity and packaging for a CBD oil product line, a new player in a new category at the time. To emphasize the product name and spark interest among consumers, we took a functional approach to design.

Grotesque sans serif typography featuring Helvetica Now Display provides maximum readability, which is distinctive and helps shoppers quickly determine the level of active CBD in product variations.

The color palette gives the packaging a positive character that symbolizes the product’s promise: to improve the consumers’ condition. The functional role of the colors is to serve as identifying code for different product variations.

Pastiche Grotesque, designed by Benjamin Tuttle, is used as the primary typographic voice for the brand launch of FeelFree.

FeelFree is an online Irish CBD oil shop that provides premium CBD oil to support people with everyday physical strains. FeelFree founders, Anna and Ian, found CBD life-changing. They wanted to share this experience, creating a brand that was accessible and with transparent messaging, challenging the often misguided assumptions of CBD.

Deep Sleep is a product developed by Rose Los Angeles to improve sleep.

Nirvana has simple and pop shapes. It has no angles and expresses softness. Its rounded shapes combine well with illustrations: the words “deep” and “sleep” are transformed into an image of strange clouds. Nirvana is paired with a yet unidentified grotesk.

As California’s largest cannabis delivery shifts to verticalization, Eaze sought a new positioning and brand that better reflected their new offering. “Highly Calculated Delivery” is both the tagline and positioning for Eaze’s service, branding, and campaign. The new branding pulls from the intersection of nerd culture and weed culture in an extended series of imaginative scenarios. This brand refresh is the first of a larger shift in the industry. As the market leader, Eaze understands that their objective is no longer to de-stigmatize weed for first-time smokers, but rather, to celebrate weed for those who have already become regular consumers. And now, Eaze is confidently positioning themselves as the lovable weed nerds—experts in data, delivery, and, of course, dank.

While Suisse Int'l Mono is the main typeface used on the website and to write the brand slogan; Aventa is used in bigger size on Eaze advertisement campaign. Open Sans is also used sporadically on the website.

Fleur Marché is a range of female-focused CBD / plant-powered products. Their patches are sold in a wide array of specialty retailers nationwide including Nordstrom, Anthropology, Urban Outfitters. Titles are set in Wulkan Display with support from Sofia. The logo appears to be based on MN Latin (with a modified R).

The company Grünkraft was founded in early 2017 by three young, innovative friends. Inspired by the purtiy and power of nature, they shared the common vision of high-quality cannabis made in Switzerland. Since 2020, the brand is offering a range of CBD oils and flowers for sale across the whole European territory.

The company logotype and packaging typeface have been designed by Bern studio Maison Standard with a customized version of Vogy Smog from Swiss Typefaces’ Lab, with a newly single-storey lowercase g designed by the foundry and a tailored ft ligature. The complementary typeface the brand is using for its website and packaging is the geometrical GT Walsheim from Grilli Type.

Taking us from an initial re-design all the way to packaging, production, campaign and launch.

The wordmark uses Nib with all supporting copy laid out in Maison Neue.

Olej To are hemp oil gift packs made for Christmas 2021. Warsaw-based Motyw Studio designed and sent these gifts to their friends, colleagues and people they admire. Blef (Le Laïc: Type Foundry, 2020) is used as the display typeface. It’s paired with TWK Lausanne (Weltkern, 2017) for smaller type.

This Place is a German cosmetics brand that focuses on self care, and is attached to using simple and organic products. Where most brands nowadays use artificial and chemical products, This Place positions itself as a brand that offers natural ways of soothing oneself, notably by the use of organic CBD in their creams. They associate a scientific and natural approach in order to offer not only beauty products, but also a particular product experience.

Their identity is as simple as their motto: hand drawn lines, colored abstract shapes and two types. The team of designers of YummyColours wanted to keep a handmade aesthetic in order to evoke the organic aspect of the products: the signature line was drawn with a wax crayon on a masonry surface and then digitized. Each product has its own particular linear shape, all shapes superimposed creating an abstract illustration used for introducing contents by the brand on social media. This principle is open to change and to the possible expansion of the brand: for each new product, another shape will be created and will modify the whole composition.

The main type is Jazmín from Latino Type, an inscriptional sans designed by Eli Hernández. Its stroke contrast brings sensibility to a sans, which would otherwise be too sober to promote a brand that highlights sensitivity and the need to listen to one’s body and emotions. Jazmín is paired with Tuner from Production Type for all technical info (ingredients, uses, descriptions): its readability in small sizes make it ideal for this use. Surprisingly, while the whole discourse of the brand is focused on craft, Tuner’s designer Simon Renaud created it with the idea of coarse computer screens and vintage software. In this context, Tuner’s peculiarities such as the triangular A and v add a little twist to a linear listing of ingredients, and keep the idea of an original brand whose products aim at revealing its consumer’s singularity.

Hanayu is a German premium CBD product brand. Designed by EIGA Design in Hamburg, the central idea of the branding is to transcend serenity and focus through a simple but beautiful packaging.

The visual identity uses all lowercase Grand Slang from Nikolas Type for the logo; the CBD percentages are set in capitals of Grand Slang and GT America from Grilli Type.

The Onda brand identity and packaging system embodies the restorative energy of the sun and marries it with the flow-centric vibes of farm-focused, full-spectrum hemp-based medicines.

The Onda wordmark is set in Pangram Pangram’s Woodland Bold. The regular weight of Woodland is used on the packaging with support from Neue Montreal, another Panagram Pangram typeface used for body copy and small text-based details when more readable, less stylized type is required.

Hunger, a sister agency to Thirst (pretty clever), created this lovely ice cream packaging for a new, and perhaps fake ? brand of CBD infused ice cream. Visuals made for Hunger by Render Studio.

My personal take: Simple layouts, fresh type, nice colors, and a healthy amount of psychedelia are a win. I wonder about the shelf life of this brand, and others like it. Will this be painfully 2019 feeling in three years?
