<p><strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://www.fontsinuse.com/typefaces/12044/filmotype-lasalle" data-entity-code-id="12044" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Filmotype LaSalle</a></strong> was designed by <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://www.fontsinuse.com/type_designers/313/ray-baker" data-entity-code-id="313" data-entity-code-type="TypeDesigner">Ray Baker</a> and issued in 1952. The light monolinear freestyle serif is called <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://www.fontsinuse.com/typefaces/135166/filmotype-mars" data-entity-code-id="135166" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Mars</a></strong> and was added before 1955. Cover designer <a href="http://www.discogs.com/artist/4544885?layout=big">Gene R. Smith</a> used it in all caps, alongside <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://www.fontsinuse.com/typefaces/4/futura" data-entity-code-id="4" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Futura</a></strong> (which was among the many standard foundry typefaces adopted by Filmotype for their display phototypesetting machine). While LaSalle has been given a new lease of life by Rebecca Alaccari and Patrick Griffin, Mars still waits to be digitized.</p>

<p>The photo is by Tony Guyther. First released by <a href="http://www.discogs.com/label/116298-Montilla">Montilla</a> probably in the late 1950s, this album was re-released by Zafiro (Spain) in 1972 and by Montilla in 1983.</p>
