This poster series for Plugball (yes, the sex toy) is a collaboration between Plug.Radio and community center Circolo il pallone, both based in Bologna, Italy.

From that first electric brush of skin to the steamy ravishings that follow, with Sense, safety isn't an afterthought or an intrusion — but a seamless, organic part of our journey. With a sultry brand voice and bold visual identity (playfully dubbed "Body Language") to tantalizing product packaging, BUCK, dare we say, touched every inch of this brand.

The branding features Termina as the logotype, Wulkan as its headlining / display type, and Basis Grotesque for body text.

Emma Dreiucker and Jonathan Körner, both visual communication students in the class of Patrick Thomas at the State Academy of Art & Design Stuttgart, designed the diploma documentation of Luisa Antonia Beyer, titled Post Porn, which aims to question the taboos that surround the topic of human sexuality in today’s society (also featuring photography by Vanessa Ruckh). The 320-page book’s format is listed as 16:9/HD. The texts are set in Format Grotesk by Dominik Bissem and HAL Timezone (with Mono, published by HAL Typefaces.

Based on research work and an interview with the performer and porn producer Paulita Pappel, the diploma culminates in a three-part film set, designed for an ethically produced porn film. As Luisa says — Sexuality is also designed — visibly and invisibly.

We feel a constant and rising sense of invasion: parasites, notifications, drugs, bodies, catastrophes, aliens. But the line between who invades and who is invaded can be more blurred than we usually think, heavily depending on perspectives.

INTRUSO Magazine challenges readers to step out of their comfort zone and break free from their confining filter bubbles. The magazine gathers investigations, opinions and interviews about topical and divisive issues, to question pre-established boundaries and power dynamics, encouraging dialogue and fostering a deeper appreciation of differing viewpoints.

Each issue of the magazine won’t be limited to a single topic, instead it will be a collection of opinions and essays around every kind of invasion we experience everyday. Issue 1 sets the tone of the magazine proposing many articles about science and nature, but also lighthearted contents like “how to choose the best sex toy?” or “why the heck kids are birthdays becoming so expensive?”

The logo is set in Airaz by Javier Unknos. Continuous text and headlines are set in Suisse Int’l by Swiss Typefaces. Inserts are set in Messina Modern by Luzi Type. Navigation, footnotes, credits and tags are set in Suisse Int’l Mono. The article “Opening up to parasites” additionally uses PicNic by Mariel Nils, and “A body inside a body: Maternidad” adds CirrusCumulus by Clara Sambot.

This issue counts 96 pages and measures 23.5×33.5 cm. Printed on Cyclus Offset 90g/m² paper. It was made as a student project at Elisava, Barcelona, in 2023.

Afterglo is a new online shop focused on sex wellness. It offers a wide range of products related to sexuality, like sex toys, intimate care, etc. Their motto is to help people explore their sensuality and offer them anything they need to be at ease with their body and desires. The online shop has different categories that help browsing their products, with labels wide enough to give ideas and broaden one’s experience, like “In the Mood” and “Body Parts”, for example. Furthermore, the website aims at creating a community of customers, in order to show either sex-related art or sexual advice.

The design of the website was in the hands of Louis Paquet. He used soft pastel colors and beautiful nude pictures, mostly details of body parts. This smooth approach welcomes the user and conveys a feeling of familiarity as different body types are shown, as well as people in natural attitudes. The products are also photographed like cosmetics, so the website gives an overall feeling of self-care to the user, and is far from the pornographic imagery of sex shops, always evoking something forbidden. The website is set in Cardinal Fruit from Production Type and Aeonik from CoType Foundry. The serif is used in caps for titles and in mixed case for introductory texts: the sophistication of Cardinal Fruit works well with the products and with the theme of sexuality: its delicate design echoes floral patterns, and genitals have often been represented in the history of art in analogy to flowers (for example in Robert Mapplethorpe’s photographs). Aeonik adds a more “medical” voice, as all the products on the platform are chosen for their quality and hypoallergenic requirements.

Last but not least, the website has a special “vibrator mode” in the “(Vibes)” section: once you click on it, the browser window begins to vibrate while 3D-modeled sex toys appear and began floating on screen. A nice gadget that brings the sex experience a little closer.
