The theme was designed to represent a use where the focus remains on the content instead of the interface design. The boldness and inviting nature of Montserrat and the sense of professionalism in Source Sans made me use these two awesome typefaces in the design. Viewbook.com is a web app that allows photographers to easily create their portofolio websites, while Viewbook for iPad is a viewer for the photos. Calluna and JAF Facit are combined to create a clean and minimlist website. On Viewbook for iPad, JAF Facit is used throughout as an UI font.

Digital Creative Director turned freelance designer and entrepreneur shares his personal and candid experiences about the design industry. You can take a behind a behind the scenes look and peer into the mind of a fellow designer. The site also offers useuful resources such as psds and prototypes. Which provides a hands on look on execution and process.

Portland based digital creative agency Instrument presents its work and studio in a clear, structured website using Escrow for headlines and navigation combined with Knockout for section headings as well as Proxima Nova for everything else like subheadings and continuous text.

Max Phillips’ wonderful workhorse FF Spinoza is used beautifully for this designer’s personal web project about film effects from the past to present. Designed in a simple, accessible manner, the typeface performs superbly both as a textface and display.

Hazen and Sawyer is the world’s leading engineering firm devoted to water. Headquartered in New York, the company has 42 offices across the U.S., as well as in Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Jordan, and focuses on developing safe water drinking systems, as well as controlling water pollution and its effects on the environment. Pentagram’s Paula Scher and her team designed a new identity for the firm that reflects its stature in the field.

The work Hazen and Sawyer does is incredibly important, especially as access to fresh water becomes a critical issue around the globe. Staffed by a team that includes many of the world’s top environmental engineers and scientists, the firm addresses these growing challenges. The new identity integrates the company’s mission into its logotype, which features a ripple of water inspired by the free water surface symbol, a notation used in water system engineering.

This is a website of a Warsaw-based psychotherapy office dedicated to couples and marriages seeking ways to develop their relationship. Marital and couples psychotherapy is conducted by two psychotherapists – a man and a woman.

Intel’s open sourced Clear Sans in Regular and small caps is the typographic foundation of the organic and humanistic design of this psychotherapy practice website (also available in Polish).

Optima in its natural habitat? Estée Lauder has been using various versions of Hermann Zapf’s favorite creation in its communication. The current websites (designed by Rivington?) prominently use “Optima Display Light” – a cut that is lighter than all the commercially available ones, custom made by The Font Bureau.

The brand logo itself is not in Optima — but the logo of Estée Lauder Companies is.

Afisha (“Billboard”) was founded in April 1999 and today is Russia’s leading entertainment magazine. The website is visited by more than six million people per month.

Website for DJA, using AnoSerif and Ano. A functional, informational design showcasing an edited selection of the agency’s work using two type sizes, with combinations of two weights of Anoserif and occasional use of Ano.

Glasgow-based graphic design studio Haiwyre is using Cera Stencil for their logo and headlines and complementary Cera for anything else on their website.

This site addresses complex issues related to Tibet, Tibetan Buddhism, the Dalai Lama as well as Buddhism in general.

The general typface for the site is OurType’s Meran and FF Dax. The typeface of the logo is Roboto. Since the vast majority of academic writing that uses Sanskrit is conducted in transliteration, another typeface, FF Fago, is used for those articles and is paired with OurType’s Fresco.

There is also a microsite that introduces a “lost dialogue” between Tibetan Buddhism, the XIVth Dalai Lama and modern art, together with an interview by Louwrien Wijers with the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. This microsite uses Monitor and pairs it with Tiina for headers.
