Alfac

Belgian manufacturer of cut-out [before 1961] and rub-down lettering products. Also active in France, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, at least into the early 1990s.

Many of the typefaces stem from ITC, Berthold, and others, but Alfac issued various original designs, too. [Alfac ≥1985] Thierry Gouttenègre served as Type Director around 1990. [Reichardt/Hoefer]

The company was at one point named Alfac Decadry S.A., suggesting a possible relation to Chartpak and their Deca-Dry brand. In 2008, Alfac Decadry S.A. was acquired by APLI Paper S.A.U.
