John N. Schaedler, Inc. was a phototype and reproduction studio in New York City, active in the 1960s–70s. Founded by John N. Schaedler, the staff included lettering artists Bob Quinzel, Ray Cruz, Joel Kaden, and Hiroshi Yamashita. Additional staff members included Lorraine Carberry, Milton Hardy, Ron Sherbet, Mike Zeitlin, Sonny Zoback. [Schaedler 1970] Their newsletter was full of silly jokes and irreverent remarks about customers and competition, but also reported typographic news of the day and announced some original typeface releases. Evolved into Pinwheel, a color proofing and screen printing service. See also Schaedler Quinzel Inc. (reg. 1994) dba Schaedler Precision.
