Type foundry founded 1902 in Leipzig by Ludwig Wagner by taking over type foundry Gundelach & Ebersbach. Mainly cast typefaces from matrices supplied by Wagner & Schmidt (co-owned by Ludwig Wagner). After WW2, son Ludwig Wagner moved parts of the foundry first to Berlin (see Norddeutsche Schriftgießerei), then Ingolstadt (West Germany in 1949, see Johannes Wagner); other parts remaining in Leipzig were nationalized, then folded into VEB Typoart.
