The graphic design for the signage of the student’s hall at the student campus of the University of Warsaw in Służewiec is based on a set of geometric shapes arranged on a modular grid. This approach was used to design various motifs composed of layered elements.

Highly abstract symbols such as circles, triangles, and squares were deliberately utilized. The dormitory serves as a temporary home for individuals from diverse cultures, hence the decision to make the graphic design universal and conceptually neutral.

FF Good Headline by Łukasz Dziedzic was selected for primary communication. Its design is characterized by open forms and easily distinguishable characters. Its simple and functional form fits well within the building's architecture.

Its complement is a decorative, futuristic font: Neue Machina by Mat Desjardins. It is used, among other things, for floor numbers, mixed with illustrations and abstract symbols.

Our task was to update the look of a series of academic books dedicated to restoring and preserving historical sites and monuments.

We solved this by designing a coherent, modern, eye-catching and highly legible graphic form for the entire series.

We’ve created a completely refreshed design of the vignettes and layout for the series. The series includes the following titles: Kazimierz restored — its monuments and cultural landscape; Alois Riegl, Georg Dehio and the Cult of Historical Monuments; About Wawel; and The Historical Monument and History.

Our task was to design a signage scheme for the Museum space: the palace, the park and the surrounding area of the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów to help visitors self-orientate around the area. The signage system is introduced to order the information space of the historic building and its surroundings and to increase its visual coherence.

In order to clarify the visual information system of the museum, reflecting a multitude of forms, epochs, styles and hues, we’ve limited its range of colours to a minimum. We’ve used two sister typefaces: Clavo and Lelum Sans designed by Michał Jarociński / DadaStudio. On the basis of the structural elements of the Clavo typeface, we’ve built a set of pictograms used on the panels and printed collateral.
We’ve analysed the economy of production and how easy the signage is to implement, as well as a large set of existing elements that had to be incorporated into the project.
We’ve transposed the system to other media, namely information leaflets and educational materials.

Our work included the design of indoor and outdoor information panels and directional signs, maps of the palace and park ensemble, as well as printed collateral and posters.

“Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder. This means that autistic children exhibit symptoms of malfunctioning in all areas of development” – according to the definition of autism provided by the Synapsis foundation.

In 2014, the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace asked our studio to prepare a guidebook to the museum designed especially for individuals with autism. Before setting to work we decided to discuss our ideas with experts who work with individuals on the autistic spectrum on a daily basis and thus have extended knowledge on how such individuals might perceive images and signs. We then analysed the information we had gathered and translated it into visual communication. The style of all materials for visitors, from the wayfinding system to educational materials, has been designed based on the Clavo and Lelum typefaces created by Michał Jarociński from Dada Studio.

The guidebook can be downloaded and printed out from the Museum’s website. Parents of autistic children may also receive assistance from the museum staff, who have undergone a special training in educational classes for persons with autism.

Our task was to design the logo and training materials for ECHOCAST programme (European Cultural Heritage Organizations Customer Awareness Staff Training).

We solved this with a simple graphic layout of training aids to facilitate the work of trainers. Training materials make it easy to navigate thanks to the highlighted content structure and pictograms used to single out its important elements. Learning points are illustrated with symbols.

Our work included the logotype, the layout design for the entire series of training materials, typesetting and page makeup, illustrations, and templates for Powerpoint presentations.

The manuals were published as part of the European Cultural Heritage Organizations Customer Awareness Staff Training programme.
