The visual identity for the German Design Council’s 2024 exhibition in Milan, Italy, embraces a dialogue between materiality and typography. The project plays with the contrast between Saans and Tiny, reflecting both the modernity of contemporary design and the soft, inflatable forms of the exhibition’s scenography.

Tiny, with its rounded, air-filled shapes, echoes the voluminous aesthetic of the space, establishing a playful yet structured typographic presence. In contrast, Saans introduces a sleek, modern touch, balancing the organic nature of Tiny with clean lines and a refined typographic rhythm.

This combination reinforces the exhibition’s duality – between experimentation and structure, between softness and precision – turning typography into an integral part of the spatial and graphic experience.

Beyond the Brand’s Grave is an editorial project made for my thesis at Politecnico di Milano. It reimagines a digital afterlife for brands. In this speculative world, a brand’s legacy—its ethical choices and societal impact—defines its identity in a second, virtual life. The project combines visual storytelling and structured data-driven content, exploring themes of judgment, memory, and transformation.

The typographic system plays a crucial role in communicating these ideas. Romie asserts a bold, authoritative presence in the titles, embodying the weight of legacy and permanence. LD Mono brings a technical edge, reinforcing the speculative framework through a sense of structure and code-like precision. Aeonik, a contemporary sans-serif, balances these elements with clean, approachable body text, ensuring readability and grounding the design in modernity.

Together, these typefaces support a narrative of ethics, identity, and digital rebirth, blending conceptual depth with editorial clarity.

The identity for Osteria del Gallo Ardito strikes a balance between heritage and modernity, much like its culinary philosophy. While grounded in traditional Lombard roots, the osteria in Galgagnano reinterprets classic flavors with a contemporary touch, an approach reflected in its identity and typographic system.

Feijoa, used in the logo and key identity elements, brings a sense of warmth and craftsmanship with its organic serif forms. Its subtle elegance nods to the osteria’s historical origins. In contrast, Suisse Int’l offers a clean, modern counterbalance, ensuring clarity and readability across supporting materials.

This interplay between serif and sans-serif highlights the osteria’s blend of refinement and tradition, reinforcing the narrative of a dining experience that bridges past and present.

Osteria del Gallo Ardito translates to “Bold Rooster Inn”. This is echoed by the logo visual, a chicken footprint.
