  1. “SPORTS” is set in Victoria Titling, according to this PDF:
    www.trbas.com/media/media/a…

    It seems Victoria Titling was originally V&A Titling (aka Victoria & Albert Titling), which was designed by Matthew Carter for V&A in 1979.

  2. I asked Matthew Carter about Victoria Titling and V&A Titling.

    He wrote:

    I drew a titling face for a series of gallery guides designed by Derek Birdsall for the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1979.

    I afterwards digitized the drawings and the resulting font was used by Roger Black for section headings in the Los Angeles Times.

    I also heard from him that Victoria Titling is not available for licensing.
