Masna is a traditional butcher shop and deli in the very center of Prague. Part of the shop is a bistro, Masna Kozí – named after Kozí ulice (“Goat Street”) where the place is located. They serve classic Czech dishes as well as a variety of snacks to go. It is a meeting place for locals, company directors, lawyers, with workers – and quite a lot of tourists lately.

Jakub Korouš (now of Lomeno) created the whole visual style of Masna in 2018, including striking neon signs. One reads teplá kuchyně, or “hot kitchen” – a vintage term common in the 1930s. The lettering is based on BC Alphapipe. A second sign shows a large modernized version of the řeznický lev. This “butcher’s lion” is the Czech emblem of the butchers’ guild.
