Lucciola restaurant
Love by VJ-Type is used for the logo of Lucciola – an Italian restaurant within the Hari Hotel, that offers all-day-dining and breakfast in the lounge. From design studio Marc & Chantal:
The interior is distinctly European, with a large marble bar, and iconic tiles, designed by Tara Bernerd. The most crucial aspect of the Harilela group is to bottle the warmth that our friend Aron Harilela exudes himself and infuse it into every aspect of the Hotel, restaurants included. With this in mind we set out to create Lucciola.
The word “Lucciola” means firefly in Italian, so we created a contemporary firefly motif inspired by the work of Georges Braque. The font Love by VJ-type was a perfect match for this project ! With each letter available in at least two styles, it was easy to design a balanced logotype that offered enough contrast with the Firefly icon.
The other typefaces are Linotype’s Avenir Next Condensed Ultra Light, used for headlines, while information and body copy is set with Adobe Jenson.
